Team roping history is the only team event in rodeo. Like tie-down roping and saddle bronc riding, team roping grew out of the ranch chores of the past. Larger cattle would have to be immobilized for branding and doctoring by two ropers due to their strength and size. Today, team roping is a timed event that relies on the cooperation and skill of the cowboys and their horses.
Mother horses usually have one baby horse at a time. After about 11 months inside its mother, the baby horse is born. Baby horses are called "foals." The baby horse cannot stand at first. In about 20 minutes, the baby horse is able to follow its mother around. A baby horse will stay close to its mother's side for the first few days of life. Usually the earlier you start to break a baby horse the easier it is. But the disposition of the baby horse has alot to do with it to.
